High Phosphates - Look at my corals - Oh No What Should I do ????

Excellent colors and growth
These are with radion G3 lights? Regular or Pro
What settings do you have the lights on?
Lovely tank!

Billyzbear -- The wife and I are always happy to have people over to see the tank. Your second post about the phosphates as to what level would be a problem. There isn't a correct answer. There is no doubt that some aquariums when the phosphates go up the coral colors go down. And if anyone has an algae issue in their tank the first thing to check is phosphates and then blame the phosphates for the algae issues. But phosphates are also the nutrients that the corals need to feed and thrive. Back in November my phosphates were 2.0. My corals were colorful and I didn't have algae issues. And I have seen healthy tanks with phosphates over 3.5 (although to be honest those were LPS and Softy dominant tanks). There is still so much 'magic' to this hobby. I'm not trying to tell people to raise their phosphates and their corals will be colorful. But more to point out that chasing the numbers is not the only way to get pretty colors..... And let's face it that's all a bunch of BS I just got lucky :)

Stryker - Thank you!

Reefwiser - Thanks

Dodgerblew/Rik - I don't think it's A. Plana. If you plug Plana into Google in the photos there are some labelled as A Plana. that look just like my colony. But as we know anybody can be anything on the net. If you cross check against coral.aims.gov.au it doesn't look like Plana (to me). I haven't pulled out my Verons yet.But most of the photos on coral.aims for Plana are Charlies.

Garrick - If you insist. But I think you're going to need a bigger tank :)

Arash - You were in the neighborhood and didn't say hello. Shame on you!

Reefers4U -- How does your tank look at .36? Are you trying to reduce them? MASLAC is always welcome at my house.

Corals look amazing! I can't wait for my tank to grow out more. Some great colonies you have there.

Which calcium reactor are you going with? Is Bill Wann making it?

Dave, once page 3 starters, can you re-insert all the pictures? I'd like to read most recent comments and see pictures on same page. thx in adv

Great looking specimens Dave. I also love taking pics from the top you get a better grasp of the coral's true colors. I love the variety of milles that you have! We will have to trade one of these days. :D

Just posted in your other thread Dave. I offered to swing by this weekend pending me checking with the wife to see if we had plans to take some pictures of your tank. LMK bud

Mikeintosh - Absolutely - I just pulled probably 100+ stalks off 1 frag rack outside and they are floating in a spaghetti strainer.... Please come pick some up (absolutely no charge - FREE FREE FREE)

Calistyle - I have no idea what you are asking me to do.....LOL

isseym328 - Top down is amazing - I don't do much trading because I try not to reach into the tank because I am always breaking the wrong corals. And being a coral addict and hoarder I always want them to get bigger and bigger. There are some broken bits and pieces out in the frag tank that might be of interest, but none of the millies have been broken yet.

Rickzathone - Sent you a PM
