High PO4 in freshly mixed SW

The latest batch of IO has very high PO4 readings when freshly mixed. I bought 10 buckets when they were on sale and all of them are the same. They came from the same batch...

I was debating treating the freshly mixed water with some GFO or something so in not raising my tanks PO4 with water changes. I mix 25 gallons at a time which I use over 5 weeks.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Ben

RODI is perfectly fine. I tested it and to be 110% sure I took a cup of salt from a friend. Took a cup of salt from my buckets. Mixed them each seperate with same exact amount of the same water and same SG. Mine was off the charts and his was fine. I even made sure to use glass beakers to make sure it's not leaching from the plastic.

I could also plumb in a cheato grow out box to the NSW tank but I'm not sure if that may mess with other parameters.

Sound like something I'd contact io about.
I've used Instant Ocean for 16 years now, but I've never tested for phosphate. What made you decide to check it? I've got a low range Hanna meter (old style $$) if you want to bring a sample by.

I'd call the company and see what they say, they might want you to send it in. I'm pretty sure they would give you new salt if the problem was on their end.

I have almost always used IO. The only changes I ever made were if something else was on sale.

I noticed I had a diatom kind of bloom every time I do a water change. That prompted me to check my RODI and finally the FSW...

I'll try contacting IO to see what they say hopefully they will replace it.

What do you guys think about pre treating the water by growing algae? I kind of like the idea myself but I'm afraid of what else it may do to the water.

Sadly no word from IO yet but I'm growing Cheato like a mad man.

I plan on weighing it in 30 days to see what I end up with.
