Higher waterflow = clearier water?

Does increased water flow really increase water clariety that much? I jist went from 160gph to 1600gph in my 55G and in a few days the water clariety seems ridiculously clearier. Does water flow truely play that big an impact on particles in water.

No.. increased flow won't really make the water clearer.. Unless you are flowing more through a filter or whatever.. Then it will clear up faster..

Yes.. flow can impact how much is "floating" around.. Increase in flow can keep particles suspended moving around in the water vs sitting in a poop pile in the corner..

to answer your question yes. of course more flow though filter will clear up tank faster, thats a given, but more flow in tank can also clear a tank up. 160 gph flow is very little. probaby had a lot of dead spots and plenty of area with very low oxygen levels. just put a gallon of water in a bucket with no to little flow and put a gallon with high flow and see witch one looks clear after 5 days

I am truely amazed at the difference. As you said previously i had alot of dead spots so breaking down causing dirty water now its like crystal clear.
