Highfin Fangblenny

I caught this little fella here in American Samoa and thought I would share as I don't think they are a commonly kept sp. When I first saw him, he was high above some rock rubble and I thought it might be a dragon wrasse the way it was swimming. It isn't often you see blenny-like fish so high above cover. He bolted for an empty tube worm casing so it was quite to catch him as all I needed to was plug the casing with my thumb and lift the rock out of the water over a container.

In the tank, he is a very personable fish and actively cruises around all day. His colour will range from nearly pure white or mottled grey to darker greys with yellow spotting. At 2.5cm it is really funny watching him at the clip trying to feed on the nori with my 10cm sailfin! I suppose there are far more colourful fish but I'm still surprised you don't really see them available in the trade given how much fun they are.
