Just want to let you reefers out there know what happen when I used Hikari ICH-X for ich in my reef tank.After first dose it was ok then after 2 doses that I had dead corals in my tank.I got a hold Hikari and told them what had happen to my corals.We exchanged several e-mails back and forth and they finally told me there was nothing they would do for me.I lost about 2500.00 worth of corals.Do not use there products.

I feel your pain similar thing happened to me with a well known company and on their advise od my tank and killed about 2k wholesale worth of fish and all I got was a we are very sorry for your loss..

I agree. I'd sure get in the habit of always using a QT from now on. This section of the RC forum constantly preaches that fact. I don't know of any company that would, or could, guarantee its products against loss of livestock. Sorry for your loss.

im sorry, but you should have known that there is no reef safe ich treatment. and ALWAYS read whats in the stuff you are dumping into your tank. sucks you had to learn the hard way
Because there's no FDA to police fish medications. The manufacturer can say whatever they want with no repercussions. Which is why you are better off taking recommendations from folks on this forum. We aren't trying to sell you anything.

And proving the med killed your fish would be impossible. If you could expect to be compensated for losing livestock, everyone would keep a bottle of this stuff handy and blame it for any major loss.
And on the flip side, these companies will tout some tree oil extract from a remote village in India as the latest "treatment" for Ich and many other diseases - but they'll never use the words "eliminate" or "eradicate". So basically they're using word trickery to deceive their customers. You gotta be a little bit smarter than that bottle of "Ich magic" sitting on the shelf.

Right. Just like the FDA does not regulate nutritional supplements. You would not believe some of the claims I have seen. But again smartly word smithed. What I call "mouth dancing".
