Hippo/Purple Tang Question...

It seems that my Hippo Tang has an eroded face, like it's degenerated. He swims normally, eats like a pig, and nothing else seems to be wrong. It is just that his face is almost eroded away. And my Purple Tang has a similar case with a thin white line going across his body. His face is fine and he also swims normally and eats like a pig. Can anyone identify these disease and give me a form of treatment?

HLLE Head and Lateral Line Erosion

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have seen three hippo tangs in local reefs who had some signs of this. One was very bad and she had no idea it was a problem or what it came from. Her are a few references.

def HLLE. the consenus as to the cause of this disease is a vitamin A deficenacy. so feed foods high vitamin A. try brocolli or shredded carrots. also this is rarely fatal and is reverseable but severe cases can leave permanent scars
