Hippo Tang Tail Issue.

This morning after turning the pump on I could not locate my newly added blue hippo tang in the tank. After searching for a while, I found it trapped and stuck on the suction pipe of my pump

I had no clue how and why this happened. I thought it is dead but when I lightly detached it from the suction pipe, it started to swim again. After few hours it is doing fine and eats fine. However, I found out that it's tail is damaged badly (please see the pic)

I was wondering if it's tail would heal or is there anything thing that I can do for it?

give it some time and should be ok. why was your pump off?

I hope it will heal, since it is young.

I turn off my pump overnight, since the tank is in my bedroom. This also simulate the night for fish (maybe). Although I know that is not the case in ocean.

FYI: This blue tang did not make it and passed away after 2 weeks
