I got this guy as a small fish around 3". He took to my 400 gal tank very well and after a few days was eating and getting along fine with the rest of his tank mates. Mostly other Tangs.
Fast forward like a year and half and he had grown to about 9 - 10 in The biggest fish in my tank.
Then something happened. He suddenly disappeared into the rocks and refused to come out for almost a week. I finally stepped in and coaxed him out. He looked perfectly fine albeit maybe a bit bloated. Considering the fact that he hadn't eaten (at least that I was aware of) for almost a week.
But it was very obvious that something was really terribly wrong.
His swimming was very erratic. And he appeared to not have much control over it at all. Bobbing head first up and down with his face out of the water.
I let this go on for about 24 hrs until i couldn't bear to watch him suffer anymore. I had to put him out of his suffering.
I've been keeping all kinds of fish for over 25 years But i never saw anything like this.
So im curious if anybody else has seen anything like this in any of their fish?
