My sargassumfish has laid two eggmasses. I had no idea what they were until I Google image searched and that's exactly what is floating in my tank. I'll try and take a picture of it, but they are so clear that it is hard to capture in an image.
Now, here is the kicker, she shares the tank with a scorpionfish, not another angler. A few days ago, she sat on him repeatedly, I researched her courtship routine and I believe she has mistaken her tankmate to be her male suitor. I've never witnessed a different species of fish try to mate. Of course the egg mass lies unfertilized, but it's definitely intriguing. Maybe next time ill set up a camera to document everything
