Hit the macroalgae jackpot on this piece of LR

The green one on the right is definitely a Codium Sp. The red appears to be some sort of Gracilaria. Gracilaria Parvisipora, maybe? Difficult to tell, because the leaves are hard to make out in the picture. No idea about the one on the left, but I am very jealous of it nonetheless. Try the marine plant book (there is an online version of it at marineplantbook.com) to help you ID the macros and find more info on how to care for them.

Thank you so much that website is awesome!!! I still have no idea what the one on the left is. I've never seen anything like it. It's from a piece of uncured gulf live rock so that helps to narrow it down. Its smooth and hard. I havn't had it for very long now and can't tell if its grown any or not, but the other stuff is really starting to take off!

The one on the left is another variety of codium, codium lucasii. Under the right lights it will get a deep blue iridescence to it.

Pics of mine:

Lovely tank! You really did hit the jackpot on these rocks! It'll be interesting to see what else emerges from the rock work.

Two questions, tektite: where does one get codium lucasii (jackpot LR aside), and what is the "right lighting" you mentioned that will give it the pretty iridescence? I love the look of the lucasii, but I have no idea where to buy some or how to care for it.

Every now and then it'll show up in a LFS, usually called a sponge. Other than that, of online retailers, the only one I know has it is lareefs. But as usual with them you'll pay through the nose for a TINY frag, and its almost never in stock.

Medium light seems best for the blue, lower light tends to keep it more green. It is an extremely slow grower as well.

It does look like a bit like a sponge. Poor confused LFSs! Well, thanks for the info, I'll be on the lookout.
