Brought a cluster of oysters home a few nights ago to crack them open and feed them to my anemones and eels and in the bucket with the oyster covered rock this fish came out. i put him in my mantis-less mantis shrimp tank since there isnt anything in there but macro algae and glass shrimp. he eats like a pig pellets and mysis. its fast and like darting in and out of the little caves it has made under the rocks

If I'd found it up here on the East Coast of New England, I'd have said "Naked Goby" - it looks similar, but I'm sure goby diversity is a lot higher in the Gulf!

The link worked fine for me. Ya that is a Naked Goby. Cool hitchhiker, but I'd be shucking them thar oysters for ME

i wonder if i should keep him and put him in my 180g or let him stay in the mantis tank and when the mantis comes just let nature take its course

I think the only special thing he may want is an empty oyster shell that is just open enough for him to get in and out. He might also want a girlfriend :D
