I was cleaning aiptasia off someone's rock this morning and this is what greeted me. It's a flat worm the size of my palm.

I don't feel so well.

I my Reef Inverts book (Calfo and Fenner) says to remove them to a quarentine tank until you can determine if they are going to eat corals, clams or other things. Many are toxic too. I have chosen to remove mine to the dump. The thing is not multiplying in my tank.

Usually there will only be one. Im not sure but either that one eats pods and flat worms, or it eats snails.

Rather strange that a lady who breeds nudis is totally freaked out about another nudi - Go Figure!!!

the pattern and ruffled fringe kinda resembles the mantle of a giant clam or a Tridacna squamosa ;)
Yes, it does. It was also amazing good at blending into the rock. I would not have seen it if it had not moved.

You've got to figure as with many of the inverts in our tanks that if they are 'big' for that type of creature then they tend to be or become preditory of something expensive$$$

so did you let it crawl around on your hands? :D I personally prefer the fake toss towards a friend or loved one and watch them run and scream. ;)

What did it taste like?

It does look like it would be delicious lightly saute'ed in real butter.
