This guy came in on some LR. The whole colony is about 1" in diameter: (w/o flash)

For size reference, on the very left is the polyp of an Acan echinata: (w/ flash)

The best close-ups I could get...he's so tiny!

Much thanks. :)

Maybe Micromussa minuta(?). I tried to go to whelk.aims.gov.au, but it won't let me in... It keeps sending me to aims.gov.au... Anyway, that would be my guess.

Thanks! Well, I wasn't really in the market for any LR, but when I saw this piece, I simply couldn't resist. ;)

That was my guess, but I wanted others' input as well. Here's the link - it's working fine for me...now.

Thanks again, guys.

Flipturn,

How are you getting into the site? that link works for me, but I can't get back to the main coral search site by adjusting the URL... I noticed they are selling a cd, now (may have been before too-not sure).

Thanks for the help, guys! After looking at pics of the species, I do believe you're right; the polyps seem more "pronounced," if that makes any sense.

I used a bookmark of the site - the same as what mschriskim linked above. :)

Thanks mschriskim. That one works for me. I had it bookmarked on the other computer, but lost it in the shuffle.

Thanks again:).
