Hitchhiking octopus?

Hi everybody,

I just got a shipment of live rock from tbsaltwater.com. Side note, I was ridiculously happy with everything that Richard sent.

I might be crazy, but I think that there is an octopus hiding in one of the cracks in the rock. I've only seen tentacles so far, but I cannot imagine what else it could be. Here are the only pics that I managed to snap. I wish they were better. You can see the tentacles in the middle of the pics. They are light with darker bands around them.

Could that be an octo? If it is, any idea what kind it could be? I know it is probably impossible to tell from these pics, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks,
Mike

See? I knew that I was crazy. :)

Thanks, everybody! I had nightmares about trying to trap an octopus in my tank. lol

If it was an octopus then you wouldn't have to catch it. From what I've read, unless you specifically set up your tank to keep them (tight fitting lid with no holes they can squeeze through), they'll exit the tank on their own.

its a banded serpent star I can see it clear as day, It would be impossible for a octopus to survive the shipping without water, they are a sensitive shipper.
