I can't really see it well enough for a definite ID. Based on its nocturnal appearance, though, I'm going to suggest that you google "ball anemone" or pseudocorynactis to see if that's what you've got. They're actually not anemones at all, but are related to mushrooms.

So, it hides all day? What does it look like when it's not receding? Is it blue like in the pic, and if not, what color is it. In order to have a chance at an ID, it is most helpful to see it fully expanded, and if possible, including a look at the mouth and base of the anemone as well as the tentacles.

That is a pic of it fully expanded.I took it at night with a flashlight.the color is accurate.blue and white.recedes into a small spot in the light and it does have tentacles that look like my bubble coral at night.

The only anemones I know of that are naturally blue are Gigantea and Haddoni carpet anemones. The babies can be that small but the tentacles would be different and they would open in the light, not at night. I wish I could help more but I have no idea.

What makes you think it is an anemone? Many types of corals have tentacles as well.

Please try to get some more pictures as it grows as I think you have a really interesting pet there.

No pic. Is it the blue thing in your first picture? I couldn't really tell what you were trying to show us and was really going on your description. A clearer shot would help.

I took it out of my tank as it appears to be doing damage to my leather coral.I will post a pic but it is about an inch and a half long thin body covered in tentacles (thet were curled up in the pics and has two snail like antennae in the front.when I took it out one of it's tentacles detached and was moving around on it's own.now in quarantine.will post some photos.really interested in ID
