Im wonderin what this could be. Mt CB had ich and 3 days before I started hypo I noticed these spots on her head. She's still in hypo but the spots arent getting any better, I know they arent ich. Curious if it could be HLLE disease

I want to thank you for providing photos. They are important and they were good.

It's not uncommon for a fish suffering from a major parasitic attack (like Marine Ich) to show signs of secondary problems. Their defenses are weakened and they are more susceptible to things like a bacterial infection, HLLE, or viral infection (Lymph).

During hypo, if water parameters are not controlled (pollution and poisoning from Ammonia, nitrites, pH, etc.) the fish can come down with a variety of problems, orther than a secondary disease.

Check all the above out to make sure the fish is in the best possible water quality;

Make sure you a feeding the best foods AND beta glucan. See this post for that:

After doing an 80%+ water change of the hyposalinity water once a day and improving its diet, then in a couple of days if the condition obviously gets worse, begin an antibiotic treatment. Be prepared for this by obtaining antibiotics now.

Good luck!

Thank you for your quick and in depth response leebca. I have a variety of foods but Im missing a couple on your list which I will be getting today to add to the diet. As of right now my Ph is a bit low its 7.5 - 7.6 Ive had that problem since the hypo.

You seem to have many many informative links and pages. Ive searched a bunch on HLLE and while all the pages have supposid treatments I cant seem to find a deff. I am curious if you bave ever treated a fish for HLLE. Its been about a week now, all the "holes" seem to have stayed the same accept one which seems to have gotten a bit larger so antibiotics may be necessary. So along with the dietary improvements Im wondering what antibiotic(s) you would reccomend for treatment

Thanks again!

HLLE has 'blossomed' into a greater condition known as: MHLLE

In order of what I think is most likely:
Vitamin deficiency (A and/or C);
Poor Nutrition
Chronic Stress
Poor water quality (including high levels of dissolved organic matter and/or nitrate)
Activated carbon (either removing something the fish need or the dust clogging the pores on the fish)
Stray Voltage (is your system grounded properly?)
Retrovirus
Hexamita
Amyloodinium-like dinoflagallate

We really don't fully understand MHLLE. Some recent work implies it is caused by a dinoflagallate:

What I'd recommend is that you go through the above list and check them all out, one-by-one. Read the article closely for other possibilities. Improving nutrition and providing vitamin and fat supplements on a regular basis is about all you can do, after you've been through the list.

My favorite antibiotic is usually Maracyn Two when there might be an internal bacteria problem. If sure there is no internal bacterial infection, then almost any antibiotic that attacks Gram Negative bacteria will do. :rollface:

CONTROL THAT pH! Bring it up slowly to where it belongs and hold it steady. That of itself will reduce a lot of stress on the fish.

I'm glad you find my efforts helpful! :D

Beta glucan can be found in any (human) health food store. The link is a liquid version, which I would not trust. The dry powder version would most likely not be affected as much by shelf life. Adding a powder to the food is usually more easily measured than trying to figure out how much liquid is the equivalent to the mass of the solid. If the liquid is guaranteed fresh, then it could be used in place of the solid.

I usually buy capsules of the powder that are already measured out for me. I open the capsule and mix the right amount with the food.
