Hey, has anyone seen this website before? i thought it was good for a laugh, the squid section SEEMS somewhat plausible,(somewhat= not very much) but the "northwestern tree octopus"(okay this thread DOES have tree octopus in it) section killed it
here's the link

just FYI........ i'm sort-of a computer geek... i actually work for a company that allows me to "Hack" legally! So I know ways to find out different things.......... if you go to that link and then go to View-->Page Source. You'll see a bunch of code.... but there is a part right above the code for the blinking Update text. That is a page note that doesnt appear on the website but is only used for the creator. This is what its says....

"Because I have taken such good care of my squid, it has become somewhat famous for being a prime specimen of the species. As such, I was recently contacted by a well-respected photographer who had heard of my prowess with cephalopods. He had an interesting proposal: He wanted to use an octopus raised by Yours Truly in a photography session. Well, of course, I agreed and began raising an octopus, finally the day of the shoot came and I transported him to the shoot in my specially-shock-proofed van.
Well, the photos are done!!! And I am, to say the least, VERY IMPRESSED!!
Look at the coloring on my little octy! He is a paragon of his race, it cannot be denied!
Maybe this will lead to film work!"

So if that note is true... seems like that bottom pic is just a plain 'ol photo shoot and he brought that octopus with him in a "shock-proof van" (if those even exist). So if he lied about that.... I'm sure the rest of the text on that site is one big lie.

hmm, "view page source" is considered "hacking"? awesome! i learned about that from webpage design class! too bad you can't modify the actual page, just the one that displays on your own computer! :)

btw, i know it's fake, i just thought cephalopod keepers would get a real kick outta it!

(i assume no responsiblity if you actually DID listen to the guy and enclosed your room with plexiglass, if you did post pics!)

hahaha............ no i'm not saying its hacking

but there are a lot of ways to look "deeper" into a website
