HOB protein skimmer?

I have a 46 gallon bowfront tank. I am looking for a HOB skimmer that works well and is quiet for under 200%. I have been looking at the aquac remoras and some reef octopus models. Im not too sure about either of them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Remoras are not all that quiet. I've been interested in the bubble magus nac5e but I don't see much info on them from people who have used them. May be worth taking a look at.

I just dont want to make anoter purchase that Im not happy with. I heard a lot of good things about maxijet powerheads and bought two of them. They sounded like garbage and I ended up getting a koralia. Very happy with it.

Hope to get more advice. I was looking at the Reef octopus 2000 and 1000 models.

Eshopps PSK-75 works well for me and pretty quiet.

I'm using the sro lx1000s on my 46g QT tank. Its a great skimmer but a little over your budget... $259 at Reef Specialty.

Using a CPR BakpPaK on my 40 breeder. Works like a champ.

Don't ignore the "old and outdated" models. We all know that's just industry hype for "buy our newer and more expensive model"

Eshopps PSK-75 works well for me and pretty quiet.

This is what I've heard; and the model I'd currently buy if I were in the market.

I have an Remora Pro (with Mag3 upgrade) and it skims great, but boy is it loud.
