Hob refugium

Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on a hob refugium. I have a sumpless 10g and am trying to get the best possible filtration with the limited space and budget my wife allows me. Amazon has a finnex hob refugium for minimal cost with pump and light

Might be OK on a 10 gallon.

HOB skimmer might be better. I used them on 20 and 40 gallon breeders in QT and an old 55 gallon frag tank. Worked fairly well.
