Hoevens (Halichoeres melanurus) or vroliks (Halichoeres chrysotaenia)

H. melanurus and H. chrysotaenia are in fact 2 different species.

Chrysotaenia males are distinguished by their spotted caudal fin.Females are distinguished by finer lines along the body.
The range of melanurus is also not as far west as chrysotaenia.

However as regards safety with your cuke, both would be pretty equal in their demeanor.

My melanurus wrasse destroyed my CUC. The only invert I've seen in my tank since I introduced him is a single hermit crab, the only one I had before he entered the tank. It's like a snail graveyard in there.

I've had a melanarus for over 5 years. The only thing he's ever bothered was a peppermint shrimp. Everything else he leaves alone.

I have a melanurus (Vrolik's coloration) and a H. claudia in a 72x24x21 with cleaner shrimp, fire shrimp, hermits, snails with no problems so far. The smallest cleaner shrimp is usually right in the middle of the feeding frenzy each night and has never been molested at all. I'm sure it varies from individual to individual but this these are among the most interesting and attractive fish to me. Mine may turn rogue tomorrow but so far so good.

Ok thanks. Do you have any pictures of them at all?
