hole in head

I bought a blueface angel from a local marine store for really cheap because it had a hole in its head. The store said that the hole has been there for awhile and it wasn't healing because there were no live rocks in the tank and the water qaulity of the tank wasn't exactly perfect. Now that I bought it, I do have live rocks in my tank and my parameters are good. How will this hole on the fish go away? any treatments that doesn't involve medication because I have a couple of corals in the tank and inverts also.

That is silly a reason for the fish having the hole and significantly reducing the fish's price because of it.

HLLE is caused mostly by a deficiency in their diet not water parameters. Parameters can worsen the problem but it is typically not the problem. I know people with their nitrates in the hundreds with no HLLE in their angels. Stray voltage can also be the problem so a grounding probe can sometimes help. My suggestion is to get the fish on a healthy balanced diet of fresh macroalgae, nori, pellets, krill, mysis, new life spectrum pellets and a frozen angel formula with sponge then go from there. The solution is pretty simple after a couple weeks or so on a healthy diet the hole should heal up. Considering the solution is so simple I don't know why'd you take a loss on an expensive angel because of it.

ok thanks. I bought an adult blueface for about a 100$ the other ones in the stores were for 160. I just thought if I bought it would heal up but I didn't know exactly how I can help with that. I will buy some angel formula whenever i get the chance.
