Hole in Stream housing

My 6080 Stream has developed a hole (cracked plastic that fell off apparently) that is near the upper left corner of the front of the Stream housing. Is this a problem (meaning are there parts inside the stream housing that would rust, etc)? The unit still works fine, but I just want to make sure this is a simple cosmetic problem.

Are you sure this isn't a hole that was already there? The pump casing is really just cosmetic, the motor is encased in resin and waterproofed by the resin. The case is supposed to have holes, just about every submersible pump has these holes to let air escape.

I thought I had cracked my 6100 until I noticed exactly the same hole in exactly the same place on my other 6100.

Nope this isn't supposed to be there. It's on the front and is clearly a "cracked" hole caused by who knows what. I figured with the holes on the back that seem to take on water that it was likely ok, but I just wanted to make sure.

There is a tear drop shaped hole on the front, do you have a picture?

I'll try pulling it out today to take a picture of it. Basically it is a right triangle cracked hole with sides of probably 1/2" x 1/2".
