Hollywood chalice - New growth or recession?

I've had a Hollywood chalice (first chalice) for about a month now, and it's been developing a white ring all the way around. At first I thought it was skeleton growth similar to a montipora, but i'm hoping it's not recession. Does it look happy or sad?

+1 Mine grows pretty fast and the new growth edges look similar to that.
