OMG......does everyone elses Tang (mine is a Sailfin) leave huge craps in the water...?

I swear I thought my sons' Dachshund was swimming in the tank when I was gone. These things look like horse pills and their EVERYWHERE ! ! ! Geeeessssshhhh !

What do do I do do about this do do ???

yeah, they eat veggies all day, I am sure that with the same diet you would leave huge piles all over the place.

My tang poops like these large green logs. I mean it's just obscene how much she poops.

snails will clean them up pretty quickly... or another tang will swoop in and find a snack espically if you feed lots of nori as most of it does relatively undigested i find

seaweed... my tangs tear though the stuff since they are grazers i fold up the sheets then on a clip and they take turns tearing away at it

So okay....what is nori...?

Nori is the thrifty person's 'seaweed selects'. You can get it at some grocery stores and asian markets. It's what they use to make sushi. Much cheaper than buying it at LFS. Just make sure you don't get a flavored one with additives.

My angels leave similar presents all over their tank, it seems herbivores just poop a lot. Hermits seem to enjoy the 'piles', and as others have said fish aren't as discriminating as we are -- often I'll see one fish poop and before it can land on the rockwork another will swoop in and grab a free meal. I guess it's one form of recycling...

Just think what happens to you when you eat a whole bunch of salad! You spend the rest of the day on the toilet!:D
