do you know if he saw others? - Never see others - they are XXXXTREEMMMLLYYYYY rare - to give u an example almost every year a gem tang or 2 are caught, this is the 1st time i have ever heard of 1 been caught since i am in the hobby, i have been in the hobby around 6 years

small kingis are normal found deeper
the big +20cm size once can be found as shallow as 25m deep
the deeper you go the smaller thy get like bandits ( under 10cm is almost impossible to see )

There was one found, about the same size, around a year or two ago...it was caught in a tidal pool after a large storm passed thru...it was posted in here with pics in a plastic soda bottle that was cut in half...that fish did not make it...
I forget who posted it but somebody in here will remember
