Hi guys,

Stumbled across this thread. That is the kingi I caught. Thanks for posting Ziyaad. Still doing well, almost 2 months down the line. Was a bit ill prepared for the little guy, never imagined beforehand that I would catch something that rare (was hoping for an emperor or gem). Eating everything (flakes, frozen angelfish mix, lobster eggs, mysis etc.). He is going into hypo soon (1.009 SG, combined with a 4 week PraziPro course) for a 2-3 month period, want to get rid of any lingering disease that there might be on him before he is going into my 2 meter tank, he still seems to be shaking something off from time to time which could be flukes. Hopefully the cleaner wrasse in there keeps it under control until he gets to the QT. He seemed to have grown about a centimeter since I caught him, so a good sign I suppose.

Oh, and there was quite a bit of flooding in Mozambique to our North East this year, and a cyclone somewhere up North in the Indian ocean that might have caused the ocean currents to bring in some rare fish. Another guy apparently caught an Emperor and Trimaculatus angel over one weekend, both in rock pools close to where the kingi was caught.

welcome to RC(though you registered long ago)...
thanks for posting...keep us up to date..
and some new photos please...
