Homemade bristleworm traps

I noticed some bristleworms in my tank recently with the light on at feeding time

about five or so came out of the rocks

i assume if i saw that many there must be more

i'd like to thin the herd, has anyone had goodluck with their homemade traps?????

their population is generally self controlling. if there isnt excess food then there wont be excess bristleworms. and if you take some out then the rest will just breed and bring the population back up. and either way theyre harmless scavengers. just my opinion before you spend time trapping them.

Unless you have seahorses in the tank...

Unless you pick up a rock and get all the needles in your finger, on a first hand experience I can say it don't hurt for a day but after that I kills and if you don't get all the needles out the skin starts to split causing alot of pain and then the skin around that area turns like a calas and sheds the skin.
Definatly not something I would like to experience again.

im not sure they're all harmless scavengers

most but not all, ive heard

besides that i tried to suck some out a few times with a turkey baster and they were so fast i got nothing

i know theyre hanging out in the rocks laughing their little worm buttts off at me

so it's kind of personal

for $9 or $10, I bought the Coralife Trap 'em device and it worked like a charm....it even comes with the food to place in the trap...

why would you want to get rid of them? seems like an impossible mission.

impossible you say?!?!

haa

impossible is my name sir

At least thats what my g/f calls me

Hmmm, you saw them coming out to clean up excees food that would foul in your tank and also clean up the fish poop, but have never seen them cause any problem and you want to get rid of them? I dont get it. They are very good for your overstocked tank
