Homes for Sale with Custom Reef Tanks

I've sold two higher-end homes that I had built aquariums into the wall and each time 9 out of 10 people who walked through were in love with the tank but shyed away from putting in an offer because "It's too much work to take care of a Saltwater aquarium." My house in Nashville sold because it had been in Better Home's and Garden's magazine and the guy who bought it killed everything within a couple of weeks.

The second house I broke down the tank and re-sheetrocked before even listing it. Most people love tanks but we as reefers are a smaller breed of people. IMO just like it is easier to sell a house with neutral pain. Anything that niches your house too much can and will hinder the sale. Lastly however you can offer to pre-pay for aquarium service for a few months to teach the new residents how to properly take care of an aquarium.
