Tomorrow is the big day!
We take my denitrator off of my system and install it on Joe's.
Currently my system s running zero nitrates tested on a colorimeter. This will be a learning curve as how to properly transfer from one system to another and hopefully back. There are always concrns of pests and other forms of bacterial issues, this will also be watched closely.
I currently run my unit at a slow steady stream and we will be starting Joe's at 60 drops per minute as a reference and testing every 6-8 hours until properly adjusted and reducing nitrates as expected.
Keep posted for the results.

I just set up one of David's de-nitrators. My Nitrates tested yesterday at 50ppm as a starting point. I will post the progress. Currently I am running the de-nitrator at 25 drops per min
Thanks for all your setup help David. I tested the effluent after 24hrs of setup and it was 40ppm so I uped the flow to 40 drops per min. I will update again tomorrow when I test.
Well I was out yesterday so I did not get to test until today and the effluent was 160ppm. I have increased the flow to 160dpm. Hopefully it will start going down rapidly.
Should do just fine. I would probably go with very little aragonite though since it is a FOLR tank. That way the calcium doesn't go through the roof. The only thing you need to do is dose baking soda for the alkalinity uptake from the nitrate removal process.
I tested it last night and again this morning and it is staying steady at 60ppm with a 160 dpm. Should I keep it at 160dpm until it goes down some more?
