Hope you guys in IC/CR are ok

My fiance is down there and he said the sky is looking pretty scary! We're praying our new house in Riverside doesn't get swept away, we just bought it :worried:

He just texted me and he said a tornado just hit about a a quarter mile from his office at the U of I campus.........

Well no more dairy queen on riverside drive... and downtown iowa city is NOT pretty... BOB i heard two house were on fire close to you... hope its not yours. Several trees down, cars overturned, etc etc. I had golf ball to bigger size hail

That Dairy Queen sucked anyways ;) Just hope no one was in there...... that must have been from the tornado that touched down there........ I've heard they like to go down rivers for some reason.

We got lucky - were at least a mile away from the closest tornado. We had huge hail - 2" diameter at least - I covered my little old car in blankets, and thankfully, I don't think it was damaged. The only thing that I'm at all concerned about is our roof, which we'll have to make sure is OK.

I hope that the rest of you who are in the area are safe & sound, and that your homes, property, workplaces, etc. weren't damaged!

I was at work the whole time and didn't even know anything was going on! :rolleye1: Must have been a heck of a night! It was nice when I went in at 2 and pretty nice at 11 when I got off. Nice of the management to keep us informed as to what's going on outside!

Hope everyone is okay!!!

Hope you are all ok, my wife called earlier as the storm was starting up in the QC.

If any of you over in IC need help with anything, clean up or whatever, I will be back in town tomorrow. pm me and I will be more then happy to come over and help any way I can.

It sounds like most of the damage was along Highway one south of Iowa City. Menards, walmart a few dealerships, DQ, KFC. Downtown took some hits too. Cars overturned, St. Pats damaged....a lot more. Unbelievable that there were no reports of any serious injuries.

Yeah there were 2 fires in town here but it was not us. I guess they were lightning strikes.

Not two much damage to speak of here. IA City and Muscatine were hit pretty hard. The brunt of the storm crossed the Mississippi after it hit Muscatine and rolled through south Rock Island county.

I got hail and fallen branches, nothing to crazy. I need to give the gf's car a good once over to make sure it doesnt look like a golf ball, but i think we made it out unscaved. I will know over lunch when i run home to check everything i couldnt see last night.

If anyone got hit hard, post up, i have a strong back and can move limbs or other garbage.
