hopefully an easy ID

I'm almost embarrassed to be posting this.... I picked up a rock of Daisey's on the weekend, and I got an added bonus. A soft coral of some sort. It's still quite small, not even an inch tall, which is why I'm having a hard time id'ing it.

What do you think? What kind of leather is this? Finger leather maybe?

Kenya tree? Really? I alredy have one of those and it doesn't look anything like that. Thanks !

So, if that's a Kenya tree, then what's this? I thought this was a kenya tree? Or does it simply look different because it's mature?

Kenya trees can be a plague much like green star polyps. I started with 1 and now have at least 20 or so that I can't get at. My LFS won't even take them anymore.

You know what? I think you're right again. For some reason I was all confused with the names of those corals. I now remember the second one being called a Colt coral when I bought it.

Thanks for the help guys.

Woops! :spin1:

I think that one could easily be a kenya tree too though. Kenyas and colts are a lot alike and you see their names used interchangably a lot. I think what it comes down to is colts have long stalks with stuff growing out the top, and kenyas are bushy all over, (like trees :D ). Or at least, that was always my understanding.

It's actually pretty easy to tell the difference between a Colt coral and Kenya tree, once you've seen them both, and I don't think anyone would use their names interchangeably.

Fish shops use the names interchangeably, is what I was getting at.
So Lancer, what's the final word then? Colt or Kenya tree.

That's true about fish shops!

It's a little hard to tell what the larger one is without a better picture, but they both look like Kenya tree to me...I'm 91.2% sure the larger one is not a colt :)
