Horgos Rimless Build

I picked up a few new fish, 1 male and 2 female lyretail anthias, 1 blue hippo tang.

I have been trying to work on my pictures so that they are not so blue..check it out.

i love the rimless design but just a pity that only 2 side are viewable since it's tucked in the corner.

I will be tiling over the plywood. Hopefully in the next month.

Nice build. Any issues with fish jumping so far. I am going to get a 48x48x20 cube (200 gallons) and do an SPS/clam reef so I want to know what your experience is so far.

I think with open tank, u need to be prepared some will just commit suicide... wrasses, firefishes etc are very prone to jumping, tangs are less likely but I had a powderbrown tang that jumped out before.

I would put a screen over the tank. Why risk a fish you've had for so long? Especially if you intend on keeping a few wrasses. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of 'when'. This is the huge downside to rimless IMO However I still really like the clean look of rimless, even with a screen.

You know it. My glass is 1/2" thick. This was really the limit my manufacturer was comfortable with for 1/2". Only because of the height and short 4ft sides was he comfortable with the design.

As we speak it is filling with water so it should speak for itself over the next few days. I'll try and post some pictures later today as it fills.

do you use tempered glass or normal float glass
