Horn Shark Video

1ucky,

Thanks......the tank is a 480gal.....it's 8' long, 2' deep, and 4' front-to-back..... I custom ordered it with the 4' to give me lots of aquascaping options and also to give the sharks the turning-around room they need.

reefer334,

Yes, a male/female.....I've had the male for about a year, the female ontly 2-3 weeks......she's quite a bit smaller than him (24" to 14") so it will be at least a year or two before she's breeding size. I wish she was the larger of the two because he sometimes bites her pectoral or dorsal I suppose in an effort to breed.....

What size are your horns? Male/female? Tank size? Any pics or video?

Hey RNelson, love the shark tank. Post some pics of your filtration setup. I am interested in how you have it running. I am helping to re-do a 530 gallon shark tank so some good idea's would be great. Thanks

Pulp Fishin,

Those fish are a school of bar gobies, 11 total....not just your imagination!!! :)

MercZ,

My filtration setup is very simple.....I have about 300 lbs of Live Rock and a 4" sand bed.......I have a 100gal sump but no fuge.......I have a Fluval 304 from the sump that runs carbon and phosphate removal. My skimmer is a 42" tall dual Beckett powered by a GenX PCX70-HP. That's pretty much it. Right now I'm finishing up my DIY Sulfur Denitrator so it will be in the system in about a week. With 2 sharks, the bioload is pretty heavy so I have a pretty high nitrate level.
I'll still take a few pics if you want.

Pulp Fishin,

Surprisingly not......the sharks leave everyone alone....the eel has been known to munch on fish though.....he's eaten several sand-sifters. The gobies swim mid-to-top level in the tank, then when the halides go off and I'm back down to VHO-only, the gobies all duck into the sand and rocks for the night. By the time that all the lights go out for the night, the gobies have been hid for a couple of hours. If they were out after lights-out, I can promise you they'd be eel snacks :D

Those are some pretty smart gobies!
Guess any fish should be smart enought to know it doesn't want to become food!
