El Cubanito restaurant. Just south of campus on 6th St. west of Highland.

I'd eaten there once before (got some food to go one night, it was very good). So my fiance and I were on campus and decided to stop there for some lunch.

Went in to the restaurant, and waited to be seated, and the middle aged woman working the front told us to sit anywhere, so we took a seat. She never brought us menus, so I went up to the register and got the menus ourselves.

We sat and sat and sat. She kept walking by, and my fiance we get her attention by waving at her and saying, "Ma'am?" or "Miss?" but she would wave back at us, as if saying "Go away" or "Not now". The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, there were maybe 3 or 4 tables with people sitting at them.

Meanwhile, two more parties of 3 or 4 people come in. The woman seats them, brings them menus, takes their drink orders, brings out their drinks, takes their food orders, brings out there food... And my fiance and I are still sitting there, she hasn't even taken our drink order yet. By the time she had served the food of the second party that had arrived at least 10 minutes after we did, we just got up and left. By this time, we had been waiting for 15 to 20 minutes and she had not even come over to our table once.

Anyways, as we left, the woman yelled "THANK YOU!" at us... We were sooo mad.

Yeah. It blows my mind that people who work in CUSTOMER service can so blatantly blow off their duties. I think it has alot to do with the state that our society is in these days. The younger generation these days make up a generation of "the entitled". As a general rule (I know there are many exceptions), our youth/early 20-somethings have a mentality that they should not have to work and everything should just be given to them. I see it in the Air Force all the time. We'll get a new young airman who just refuses to do things and instead of following orders, something they VOLUNTEER to do when they enlist, they demand to know why or they flat out blow it off. Our society has bred a generation of "you can't make me", and "I'm better than that" types. Parents are afraid to discipline their children due to the litigous nature of our nation and the overwhelming propensity of other people to butt in in things that are clearly none of their business. Our younger generations (with many exceptions) are lazy primadonnas who want it all with little to no effort.

Amen Brother!

It's their sense of entitlement that drives me crazy.

I'll never complain about their music though. LOL!!!!
