Horse and Codium Macro Algea

Please tell me I didn't do something stupid! I just put some of this in today to help absorb nitrates. I just took a video of what my horse is doing. He's got a hold of it with his tail and is just swishing back and forth and rubbing his head on it.

Tell me this won't bother it.

IMO, sounds like scratching. If the scratching continues, the horse may have external parasites, which wouldn't be too unusual considering your horse is WC. The horse may benefit from a fresh water dip.

Did you watch the video? It just looked like he was playing in it. He hasn't done it since at least from what I've seen.

Seahorses like to hitch to algae. It's part of why I always recommend keeping macro's with seahorses.

Looks like fun to me.

your SH is most likely HUNTING in the codium...this is one of the benefits of live macro. i venture to guess if you got a "bushier" macro, the SH would migrate over to that one as a fave hangout.

one of the oddest things i've ever seen is a female erectus i had used to dive head first into a ball of Chaetomorpha looking for pods. all you would see is about half a SH sticking out of the macro, and you'd SWEAR she was stuck, but she wasn't.
