Horseshoe Crab Food?

I have had a horseshoe crab ( I believe Limulus polyphemus) for a about 2 or 3 weeks now and I thought he was doing okay. My LFS owner says that he will scavenge around and eat whats left of food like brine shrimp. Something makes me think he is slowly starving. If anyone could tell me what to feed him it would be very helpful.

I was told that they scavenge for food and get extremely large.
I do remember a field trip at Cape Henlopen state park in Delaware that
Horseshoe crabs feed mostly at night and burrow for worms and mollusks. Or at least thats what the Field Ranger said.

Good Luck

They feed on worms and small mollusks in the sand. They can only eat while they're walking, so they need huge sandbeds, especially as they mature since they can get over a foot long.

i did have a 90 gallon and he moved around at night quite frequently. But when the remains of hurricane Ike moved throught KY it hit us pretty good and knocked out power for nearly 48 hours. In 12 hours time things were beggining to die and pollute the water. We had to move the crab to a ten gallon for now but we had to take down our tank and it was awful. Although, it was a blessing in disquise because I was going to give him back to the LFS but i'm upgrading to a 125 gallon so i'm pretty happy.

even in a 125 it's not going to do well, it's carapace gets over 1' diameter, if you'd researched it before purchasing you would have realized they have a very low survival rate in home aquariums
