Host for True Perc Pair

I have one perc and hope to get her a host and a mate in the future. So its pretty commonly accepted that BTA's are the easiest nem to keep.

The thing is I went to my buds house and saw that his BTA is getting absolutely huge 9-10" diam. That kind of discouraged me from putting one in my 50 gal becuase i'd rather it not dominate the whole tank. I was wondering if there where other nems that Percs like that might tend to stay smaller and are not extremely hard to care for. Or which ones might grow large but be neater looking than BTA and have a manageable care difficulty.

Should I consider a sand species and I don't intend to have much going on down by my sand bed.
thanks

I see.
Any other choices that get bigger but not more than say 1.5 X average large BTA size? I am growing more interested in the sand dwellers as it seems the best way to keep them from where the majority of my corals would be, if I had any. And some of them look way cool.

Besides, overgrown livestock is the best reason to upgrade.
