Hostile clowns....

I have had a pair of false percs in my tank for about a month. I had two chromis prior to them so they have taken a liking to them since day one. I recently added a copperbanded butterfly to rid some of the aptasia in my tank. Within a few hours my clowns became very territorial of the whole 75G tank. They would let him do nothing. He would hide in the rockwork, only to be pecked at and tormented by the clowns. My fiancee called me at work today to tell me the clowns had him cornered in a hole and were picking on him, eventually killing him. Is this common? Is this going to be the extent of my livestock? Any suggestions?

Yeah, sounds pretty common. The chromis were spared because they were there BEFORE the clowns. I would suggest moving some rock around to break the territories.

Funny you mention the rockwork. This happened within an hour of completely remaking my rock work into a more wide open fish friendly reef. Apparently they liked it so much they weren't sharing.
