HOT TOPIC!!! Lineage!

So still, why not provide traders with a paper/certificate/tree of ownership at time of sale/trade as proof?

Another interesting 'what if' situation for proving lineage...

Currently parts of Australia are collecting. I imagine, that wont last forever. I am hearing Tonga is stopping Live Rock export. Plenty of other islands have had issues/changes too. With the instability of the collection regions these coral come from, it may become useful in the future for legal reasons. Our gov't can be narrow minded enough (at times) to create crazy strict laws that will restrict grey area species or even anything unproven... (maybe--never know) Having such a record could become handy...

because the paper would not be worth the paper it is printed on. if I had one for my $500 efflo colony. what would stop me from selling my soli as the $500 efflo. It still comes back to trust. If you can't trust the seller, then again you are lost! Unless of course you want to back up the authentication with a DNA test.

I can see where the buyer would want to have documentation for piece of mind. I think it would be like a Honda vs. a Lexus, They are both cars, and will you where you’re going. What you are paying for is the prestige.
