i know that there have been many threads about what you can place in a tank that you have sea horses in. i'm read things about frog fish and one thing that everyone has said is that they are very slow moving and seem to be somewhat dosile.

the one thing that i'm not sure of is that i've heard they they can eat fish as large as them.

so the question is can i keep a frog fish and seahorse together?

Frogfish are ambush predators. They sit and wait for a meal to pass by. They can fit fish larger than themselves into their mouths.

Cool fish, but it needs to be kept in a species tank.

I have a picture in one of my books here somewhere with a frogfish consuming a seahorse. Never would have thought he would have been able to eat the whole thing.

In all reality it would be fine as long as the speices was one of the smaller ones and the seahore was big enough some of the rarer anglers or frogfish max out at 2 to 3 inchs and would never attack a sea horse but you much be sure about the speices which can be challengling to do.

It is truly amazing how large of a fish a frogfish can eat. They can literally eat a fish their own size. Like above, they should be kept alone or with fish MUCH larger than they are.

my LFS had a 30 cube with several seahorses and 3 tiny frogfish. i was shocked but they had been together for months with no incident. they both all ghost shrimp & frozen plankton.

the frogfish have all been sold but they still have the large WC SH male. he is beautiful but i dont want anymore males. only keep females now. NO MORE BABIES...............EVER...............
