How am I doing

Today was the first time seeing a trace of nitrite, but I was also kinda of surprised at the nitrate already still with that much ammonia

With the the nitrate it's probably a false reading as nitrite can cause it to think they're nitrates.

Today my
Ammonia is 0
Nitrite is 0
Nitrate is 25

Doing 80-100% water change tomorrow. My issue now is all the algae that grew on my rocks, glass, and overflows.

Water change wont help,it might even prolong the cycle. Leave it be.

Yup, just let it cycle a bit and let the algae do its thing a bit. Those nitrates will come down soon enough.

I will let it ride! Thanks guys. BryanCaruso, how are you parameters now? I believe we started a cycle with SmartStart Complete about the same time.

I was bored and tested again at 2pm it is even more blue then this morning I think after the water change I will probably skip on the cleanup crew for now nothing to clean. I'll post a pic

2pm reading I don't know why it is sideways. I even flipped on my photos and saved it then up loaded it again but anyway deffinately more blue

I am mad at myself for running the lights. Oh well. Live and learn. I was mostly worried that the lights would cause my water to get too hot. I should have just waited and tackled the issue if it became an issue

I've never understood not running them. Get the uglies out of the way earlier in my book. Old lights don't cause algae, nutrients do.
