How big do rhodactis get?

I have a small two-head rhodactis "frag" I picked up the other day, and I was wondering how big they can get, and if they grew quickly.

I do not know for sure the exact specie (and my wife is out of town with the camera :( so I can't post a pic) but both are about an inch diameter, red and olive green, if that helps any.

Also, I have them in a somewhat shaded place, but I have 4X24 T5HO over a 10g, so do rhodactis like.... tolerate... or hate strong direct light? My bulbs are one 420nm, one 460nm, one 75/25 (14K) and one 10K, so basically a fairly "blue" tank.

rhodactis typically do not get bigger than 2" cross, once they reach that size they will split.

My tank is a 55 with 4 bulb T5. It seems the colony like lower lights. frags from the same mother colony does much better on the sand bed vs the ones half way up the tank. They split faster and expand better the lower the position.

Good luck.

I may have to raise my lights up a bit. I know I have plenty of light for my SPS, even if I raise them up.

I will be watching the rhodactis to see how they behave. Right now they look healthy, but "hunkered down" under the strong light, and they are directly on the sand bed.
