how can i dial in a mag 18??/

ok heres the question, i am starting a 90aga. i wanna split my return, one going to megaflow, and one going to right side of tank. now im plumbing the sump in my basement, so theres gonna be at least 6ft of head lost. now im still worried that the mag18 will be still to strong. im hoping not cause i wanted good strong flow in the tank without use of powerheads. now is there a way of dial in the mag or can i put a ball valve on it and close it some what to match the overflow??? thank you guys and gals for any input..

It won't be too strong...in fact , probably won't be strong enough for a return AND circulation. The overflow will only empty what your pumping back into the tank.
