How Can I Improve RBTA Color?

Hey guys,

I just purchased a rainbow BTA yesterday. I got it at a decent price, and purchased it mostly on its potential. The seller I got it from had a hard time getting it to color-up as well as it did in the tank of the person he got it from.

The current colors are dark and not very vibrant. Under actinic lighting though, I can definitely see all the colors (and the potential), as it transitions from green to yellow, orange, pink/red, and purple tips.

Do you guys have any suggestions other than good lighting? I run a G3 Radion Pro. Any particular products? Feeding regimen?

I use oyster feast as well as mysis. I run radions as well and it will take time for it to adjust to your lighting. Keep it well fed and the colors should start to progress in time. I am thinking your looking at a month or so, not weeks.

Thanks for the response. I normally feed mysis to my other livestock, so that makes it easy.

Should I target feed it specifically or just let it catch what the fish don't get? How often should I feed it, 1-2x per week?
