How can I keep squamosa in one place?

I have had a Squamosa for about 6 months or more now. He is on the sand bed. The problem is he gradually moves up against the glass and a piece of rock. I really do not want him near the glass , so I can clean the glass. I have tried him just on the sand and also on small rock pressed into the sand, nothing helps. What can i do. The other problem is my sea swirls gradually move the sand . What can I do.
Here is a pic of where he moves to, I would liek him to be in the sand area to the left. WHat if I put a larger flat rock down , and just put him on the rock ? He would be just on one of his flat sides and not angled upwards.

any of your larger available pieces of rock feature a "v" or indented area? perhaps resting it in the crux of such a rock- supported by other smaller rocks to keep the clam from escaping, might do it. haven't heard anything good about placing them on their sides. What a great tank, by the way....

Don't discount the fact that it might be moving because it doesn't like where you are placing it. It's not easy for them to move, so, I don't see why one would expend the energy if it was 'happy as a clam' where it was. Unfortunately, it doesn't care about where it might look good in your display. The flow might be too high or too low, it might be receiving too little or too much light where it is placed, etc etc.
