how can i perk up my kenya tree?

my kenya tree has been dormat a few weeks now since my tank crashed. i've always had high nitrates and determined to get rid of them, i over cleaned my rocks and sandbed. my tank had to re-cycle the biofiltration system. everything is back to my normal (high nitrates and all) now. my kenya frag had a little film algae on it, so i took it out of the tank and with a sponge i rubbed it down to remove all that i could. even removed the small bubble algae at the base of the frag. that was 2 days ago, still the same. the frag is still very firm and rubbery. when it was expanded it was about 1 1/2 inches high, now it looks like a small pea size ball. is there anything i can do to get it to expand again?

How high is high on the nitrates?

80ppm plus on nitrates, but they have always been high. i run 2 reactors with gfo and carbon, probably about time to change the media on both.

You need to find out what the source of your nitrates and lower it!
Do you test your source water for trates ? What type of filtration? how many fish and what size tank do you have? Do you feed frozen food if so do you rinse out the frozen juices before feeding?
