How close can my 250 MH se be from my VHO bulb?

I will have 2 VHO actinics running the length of the tank and 4 250 watt MH SE's between the VHO's. I want 2 MH bulbs parallel to the VHO's and 2 perpendicular to them. The perpendicular MH's would bring the tip of the bulb to within an inch from the VHO tube. Could the MH heat damage the VHO?

I read somewhere that the heat could shorten the lifespan of the VHO bulb. That being said, I have my vho actinics running parallel to my MHs within the MH reflectors about 2 inches from the bulbs. I have had it this was for 8 months now with no problems noted.

In my opinion you would have no problems. The surface temperature of both these types of illumination would be high and designed to take the temperature.
