how deep of a sandbed

Hi there.
I have been considering getting a diamond watchman goby but im not sure my sand-bed is deep enough. How deep does it need to be mine is a few inches thick

A few inches should be fine. But the age of your tank is important too. Basically, your sand should be old enough so that it has enough "crap" in it for the goby to sift through. Also, having a healthy pod population helps.

BTW, how big is your tank? Or how much of a footprint (length X width) does your sand bed cover? Because you'll also need to have enough sand spread out for him to sift.
