How Deep Should My Sandbed be?

I have a 60 gallon, FOWLR. Is 2 inches of sand enough? Does anyone throw away the old sand and put new sand in?

That's fine for what you have. I'd only have more if you want fish that need it.

2" should be fine there really isnt a set depth just what you like. I would get new sand if i moved my tank to avoid getting nasty stuff in the new tank.

I don't throw away old sand. It gets rinsed and dried out for the next tank (or tank move).

If your not going DSB (i.e. 6") then I would keep it under 1". That will just make it easier to keep clean in the long run and have less chance of building up detritus in the sand.
