how densely should chaeto be packed?

I received a brick of chaeto and I wanted to know if I am supposed to "fluff" it out, or leave it dense. Will it die if it is too dense?

I have a large chunk of live rock on mine to keep it from getting to fluffy it still seems to grow very rapidly

Just fluff it out and let it do it's thing

i just let mine grow how it wants, floats on top and grows in a very dense mass full of pods and all that other good stuff, its great, always grows very close 2, in a 20g fuge and its about 4" think
